NFL 2017 Playoffs Divisional Round

Wild Card Weekend
Weekend Recap

NRG Stadium
Houston, Texas
Oakland Raiders 14
Houston Texans   27

I thought the Raiders could pull this off.  I can't say I had a lot of confidence in that pick, however, as I could see the possibility of either of these teams not showing up.

Divisional Weekend
My Thoughts and Predictions
AFC Playoffs

Second Round
#4 Houston Texans at #1 New England Patriots
I don't see how the Texans have any shot in any aspect of this game....
 Patriots advance to Championship...
#3 Pittsburgh Steelers at #2 Kansas City Chiefs
This is going to be a tough run game...Who can run the ball?  Who can stop the run?  Both run the ball well.  I think I trust the Steelers defense just a little more at stopping it.  Pittsburgh wins this game late in the game....
Steelers advance to Championship...
Championship Round
#3 Pittsburgh Steelers at #1 New England Patriots
Steelers win AFC Championship...
Pittsburgh can run the ball.  Run defense is an issue with New England.  The Steelers exploit that weakness and make their best defense the ability to keep Brady on the sideline with long drives, which also keeps their defense rested.

On a side note...
For those of us who don't like New England, Pittsburgh is the only one of the three teams left that can stop the Patriots from coming out of the AFC.  If you don't like New England, cheer for Pittsburgh this week (unless your a Chiefs fan, in which case you think I'm crazy).

NFC Playoffs

Second Round

#3 Seattle Seahawks at #2 Atlanta Falcons
Which road time for Seattle shows up in Atlanta?  Will either defense show up?  I'm not thrilled with this matchup.  The Battle of the Birds could go either way.  I'm going with the home team.  But if it doesn't happen that way, I won't be shocked.
Falcons advance to Championship...

#4 Green Bay Packers at #1 Dallas Cowboys
Dallas, don't look past the Pack, just in case the one who showed up at home comes to Big D.  If Romo were starting I'd say its a recipe for Star Disaster.  With Dak I still think Dallas is the favorite.  I really like this QB, even if he has that "one-star rating" on his uniform.  He's something very special.  Dallas finds themselves the victor, but Green Bay makes them fight for it all the way to the end.  Hopefully for Dallas' sake if it comes down to a fight at the end and a Hail Mary, Dallas remembers not to let a cheesehead behind the back line of D.  Aaron has a gun for Hail Marys like no one else in the league!
Cowboys advance to Championship...

Championship Round
#2 Atlanta Falcons at #1 Dallas Cowboys
Cowboys win NFC Championship...
Atlanta simply is a weaker team all around.
It pains me to make this prediction as the only team
I dislike more than Dallas is New England.

On a side note:
Call it a hunch ... I like Seattle more against Dallas than I do Atlanta.  Seattle might just be the team that can knock off Dallas.  But they need to get past Atlanta first.  I don't see it!

Super Bowl LI
NFC Champions Dallas Cowboys versus AFC Champions Pittsburgh Steelers

This is anything but a neutral-site game for the Dallas Cowboys.  The only way that Big D could have a bigger advantage is if this game were in Jerry's Jungle in Dallas.  Since the game is still in the Lone Star State, this is more or less a home game.  Remember what Dallas did in Pittsburgh.  This is in Texas.  That said I really hate to say this...
Your Super Bowl Champions shall be...
The Dallas Cowboys
