Houston is running away with this division. Their winning percentage has dropped 0.008 since June 29. That is pretty insignificant given that this lower rate still represents 2 wins in 3 games. Presently they are playing 0.500 ball in the last ten. With 67 games left, if they were to do no better than that standard, the Astros still finish at 0.593. Given the performance of the rest of the division, I stand by my thoughts from a month ago that this division is wrapped up for Houston.
Consider Seattle as proof of this. In the last 10 games they have the best record (7-3). They have 65 games remaining. If they were to continue at this pace, they would finish at 0.574 and finish roughly 3 games behind the division champions. It's hard to believe the Astros and the Mariners keep their present paces going for the rest of the season.
